MINUATURE, OF COURSE...
Another miniature entry! The truth is, I prefer to maintain consistency with these 'mini-posts' rather than stopping publication for years, as I've gotten used to doing. There's a lot to see and share, and too little life to do it all, so I think I'll change the blog's direction, much to my regret, as I'm forced to drastically reduce the text in the entries. You know I've always liked to be exhaustive with detail, recount anecdotes, add interesting facts, and generally elaborate. However, to achieve greater fluidity and consistency in my publications, as I said, all of that will have to be reduced in the vast majority of reviews, except for those that truly warrant an extensive entry, either due to the nature of the piece or a personal commitment to the object in question. Today's review is not one of those cases.
After the necessary clarification above, welcome to the review on this beautiful rainy night: While the blog is characterized by objects that, for the most part, I owned when I was a child, that's not the case here either. I didn't become aware of these promotional CDs until some time after I consciously started collecting all this material. They caught my attention because, besides finding them at a laughably low price and in pristine condition, they proved highly magnetic to my nostalgic soul. Pokémon was a series that marked my childhood; however, it didn't have enough strength to survive into my later years, unlike other series.
TWO DIFFERENT VERSIONS
These CDs were released by the Spanish pizza chain 'Telepizza' exclusively for its branches in Mexico. Honestly, I don't know exactly how they were obtained, or anything more. I never ate a Telepizza, nor do I remember ever seeing a branch nearby. It was a complete discovery. And I believe, moreover, that the chain no longer even has a presence in Mexico... So if anyone remembers all this, I would love to hear the complete story to solve the mystery. There is also a cassette out there that contains the same tracks, albeit with a different cover, but anyway. Nuff said, let's take a look:

Well, this is the first CD. There's not much to say; you're really seeing everything there is. The booklet is a completely simple bi-fold that has nothing printed inside, just the front and back covers, so I don't understand why they wasted so much paper when they could have done a double-sided print on a single sheet—anyway. The most bizarre thing here happens in the album's tracklist (or should we call it an EP? Yes, I think so), because as you can see, there are only 3 tracks listed, but (and it's a big but) when you play the CD, oh, surprise! There are 4 tracks. And that's because Telepizza surprises us with nothing more and nothing less than its official song right at the very beginning of the disc.

| PIZZOLETO | Before and after: from mutant pizza to a real boy (complete with his 'rucaleta' - a play on words that refers to his girlfriend/sidekick). If you are interested in knowing the interesting story of this character, I recommend reading this article. |
And well, after having danced to the tune of that great track (which you can listen to below—you're welcome), and in the company of the fearsome Pizzoleto, whose transformation from a pizza slice to a real boy defies logic (dreams do come true), let's move on to the second CD:
A RARE MISSING LINK
Taking into account the tracks from the previous disc, there are a total of 6 different tracks (including the mysterious and terrifying Telepizza song—or anthem). They are, in my opinion, very valuable sources in the sense that they collect the most emblematic Pokémon themes in their original Latin (Mexican) versions, complete and in the best quality that can exist. It is a very interesting audio document for purists and collectors of dubbing, TV show themes, and other nonsensical obsessions. And it is here, and precisely for the purists and completists, that I want to mention this 'missing link' in this set, as I have found that TelePizza also released a cassette:

Cassette from the promotion. Apparently, it includes a single track (Pokérap). I imagine it will also include the macabre hidden TelePizza theme at the beginning of the tape. Image credit to whom it may concern.

The image is not ours, but we have cleaned it up. And well, there's not much more to say about this other than what can be seen in the picture. In all this time, I have never seen that cassette being sold in collector groups, while the CDs are moderately common. I consider it to be a rare and scarce piece; it was surely manufactured in a much smaller quantity given that the format was in the process of disappearing in those years. A nice detail to complement this entry, without a doubt. Does any of you have it? Now is the time to show off!
A NOSTALGIC SONIC JOURNEY
These CDs are actually simple but quite lovely pieces, full of nostalgia, survivors of a past we would all like to return to, but one we must overcome. And to conclude this entry that was anything but 'mini,' and to finish the reading with a good dance and Poké-rap battle, I leave you all the tracks for your total enjoyment. Get out your best moves, don't be a Snorlax 🎵 TURN UP THE VOLUME!
